Usage
Nottingham One Step Catheter is used to dilate the intramural tunnel and ureter in a single step. The product may also be used to inject a contrast medium to examine submucosal tunneling or anesthetic jelly to help in dislodging ureteral stones. It is also known as Nottingham Dilator or Nottingham One Step Dilator.
Adverse Events
The following are the adverse effects of the Nottingham One Step Catheter:
- Fever
- Chills
- Headache
- Cloudy urine
- Burning sensation in the urethra
- Blood in the urine
- The foul smell while urinating
- Painful urination
Contraindications
The Nottingham One Step Catheter is not intended for use in the following cases:
- Blood at the meatus
- Gross hematuria
- Low bladder volume or compliance
- Urethral pain or discomfort
- Evidence of urethral infection
- Patient refusal
