Overview
Exemptia (Adalimumab) is available in the form of injection and the strength of 40mg/0.8ml. This injection is used for the treatment of various conditions (rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis). Exemptia injection works by blocking the action of chemical messengers, which are responsible for certain joint diseases. Before starting treatment, inform your physician if you have a history of heart, liver, and kidney disease. Do not self-administer Exemptia medication.
Pharmacodynamics
Adalimumab decreases the levels of acute-phase reactant proteins of inflammation (C reactive protein [CRP] and erythrocyte sedimentation rate [ESR]) and serum cytokines (IL-6) and it was compared to baseline in patients diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. In patients diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, a decreased level of CRP was also observed in them. Serum levels of matrix metalloproteinases (MMP-1 and MMP-3) that lead to the tissue remodeling responsible for cartilage destruction were also found to be decreased after administrating adalimumab in patients, reduction in signs and symptoms of disease, the induction of clinical response, and inhibition of structural damage, and improvements in physical function in adult and pediatric patients with various inflammatory conditions have been demonstrated.
Usage
Exemptia (Adalimumab) injection belongs to a class of medications known as biological response modifiers. This injection helps in relieving symptoms like swelling, pain, and redness which are caused by various disorders (rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, ankylosing spondylitis, uveitis, chronic plaque psoriasis, etc.). The use of Exemptia medication may result in the formation of autoantibodies in some patients, immediate discontinuation of treatment is recommended on such patients.

Missed Dose

Warnings For Females
· Pregnancy

Precautions
· Use of Exemptia (Adalimumab) injection may affect your immune system, avoid contact with people who have infections.
· Caution is recommended in patients who have pre-existing nervous system disorders like multiple sclerosis and optic neuritis.
· Close monitoring of hematological function is required during treatment with Exemptia injection.
· Discontinue the use of Exemptia (Adalimumab) if severe allergic reactions occur.
· Exemptia injection may increase the risk of reactivation of hepatitis b virus in some patients
· Exemptia medication may result in the formation of autoantibodies in some patients, immediate discontinuation of treatment is recommended in such conditions.
