CYTOTAM contains the Drug / Molecule  “TAMOXIFEN CITRATE”. Tamoxifen Citrate is a prodrug, having relatively little affinity for its target protein, the estrogen receptor. It is metabolized in the liver into active metabolites more affinity with the estrogen receptor than Tamoxifen itself. These active metabolites compete with estrogen in the body for binding to the estrogen receptor. In breast tissue, it acts as an estrogen receptor antagonist so that transcription of estrogen-responsive genes is inhibited

Cytotam is a nonsteroidal agent which is used in both men and women to treat breast cancer. It is also used in women to prevent breast cancer.

  • Cytotam is a prescription drug and should be used under proper medical guidance and advice.
  • Cytotam is not recommended for use in pregnant & breastfeeding women.
  • Cytotam has shown to increase the risk of uterine cancer
