“Alphalan” contains drug / Molecule called “Melphalan”. It is cytotoxic drug and belongs to class of alkylating agent of the Bischloroethylamine. Alphalan is active against both resting and rapidly dividing tumor cells. Alphalan is a medication recommended for treating cancer, as it interferes in the growth process of cancer cells.

Alphalan is indicated for the palliative treatment of Multiple Myeloma and for the palliation of non-respectable epithelial carcinoma of the ovary.

Precaution

  • Alphalan is prescription drug and should be used under proper medical guidance and advice.
  • Severe bone marrow suppression with resulting infection or bleeding may occur.
  • Alphalan is leukemogenic in humans.
