Overview
Entehep (Entecavir) tablet belongs to a group of medications called antivirals and it is used for the treatment of Hepatitis B virus. This medicine helps to reduce the amount of virus in the body. Take this medicine orally once a day. If you experience any symptoms while receiving this medicine, inform your doctor immediately. Pharmacodynamics
Entecavir is a guanosine nucleoside analog with selective activity against hepatitis B virus (HBV). It is designed to selectively inhibit the Hepatitis B virus, blocking all three steps in the replication process. The effects of this medicine can be observed in 1.5 hours.
Usage
Entehep tablet is used for the treatment of chronic (when the infection moves into the long-lasting stage) HBV infection. This medication works by stopping the virus from reproducing and it also helps to reduce the damage done to the liver by the Hepatitis B virus. Take this medication as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take this medicine in the wrong way as it may lead to some severe side effects. The recommended dose is decided by a doctor according to your previous medical condition and response to the treatment. Entecavir tablets may take some time to show effect.
